The PhD candidate Jacopo Gennai attended two international scientific meetings to present his research and acquire better insight in the scientific debate: here a brief report of the two experiences.
The EGU General Assembly is an annual meeting organised in Vienna, gathering geoscientists from Europe and the rest of the world. CRC 806 members presented several contributions, oral and posters, during a session dedicated to integrate archaeological and geosciences data held on April 11. In this framework, Jacopo Gennai presented a preliminary overlook on his PhD envisioned research, devoted to the investigation of the abrupt cultural change occurred in South-eastern Europe with the Upper Palaeolithic onset at ca. 40 ka cal BP.
The UISPP is a gathering of all scientists investigating Prehistory and Protohistory, the 18th Congress took place in Paris. During the meeting exchanging ideas with several scholars and attending the scientific debate was possible, confirming that the PhD research is well fitted in the current Early Upper Palaeolithic discussion. International collaborations have been strengthened.
The overall result is satisfactory and promising for future research developments.
