The network CliMathNet is a collaboration of climate scientists, mathematicians and statisticians aiming to answer related questions to climate modeling, e.g. dealing with uncertainties in predictions and observations. Closely connected to CliMathNet is PEN (Past Earth Network), whose goal is to improve future climate predictions by studying past climate. Therefore, PEN looks at the uncertainty quantification of models and observations, data-model comparison, and future climate projections.
The fourth annual CliMathNet Conference took place at the University of Exeter, UK, from 5th to 8th July 2016. One focus of last year was on the “development of novel methodologies to paleoclimates”, where results of B3 could be presented.
