Even today, relatively little is known about environmental, demographic and cultural changes and continuities which accompanied the transition from late Upper Palaeolithic to Late Palaeolithic. Nevertheless, current research projects have shed new light on several aspects of this extremely varied period, including a wide range of topics such as typology, technology, environmental change, and population development. Our workshop aims to provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary discussions of recent results and hypotheses concerning the nature of the Upper-Late Palaeolithic Transition and demography.
