At the beginning of September 2015, the Luminescence in Archaeology International Symposium (LAIS 2015) took place in Paris hosted by the Centre de Recherche et de restauration des musées de France.
Two visits were organized during this symposium, on Thu afternoon, we went to the castle of Fontainebleau and, on Fri, participants were able to visit the astonishing laboratory of the Louvre, including AGLAE, their particle accelerator.
In comparison with other conferences, the LAIS is relatively small. However, this allowed participants to meet other people using luminescence to address archaeological rather than geographical questions. Moreover, because it was organized in Paris, it was a good opportunity to meet the French luminescence community. Needless to say that a lot of ideas and contacts were exchanged not only when presenting the poster but also in the evening with a good glass of wine.
