Application of Luminescence Dating Techniques in Geoarchaeological Studies
Information
Principal Investigators: H. Brückner, D. Brill
The reconstruction of human-environment interaction throughout the last 190,000 years requires a chronological framework both for archaeological as well as for geological archives. Correlation of the manifold information from different archives and sites requires precise and accurate chronometric ages. Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), thermoluminescence (TL) and electron spin resonance (ESR) dating provide powerful tools for solving the various chronological questions covering the entire age range considered in the CRC.
