After two years of work, a stable version of the new R package ‘TLdating’ in now available on CRAN (https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/TLdating/index.html) and github.
The ‘TLdating’ package is a new R package specifically dedicated to TL dating. It is designed to be fully compatible with the existing ‘Luminescence’ package, and it is user-friendly. It includes functions for TL data pretreatment and equivalent dose (De) estimation using the MAAD and the SAR protocols. It also includes functions for the estimation of the annual dose rate (Ḋ) when dating burnt flint and ceramics. Therefore, it is possible to estimate a TL age using R for the complete process.
To make the analysis even more user-friendly, a shiny interface is currently under development (https://shiny.rstudio.com/). In the meantime, you can already use the graphic interface developed for ‘DRAC’, the dose rate and age calculator hosted by the University of Aberystwyth (https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/iges/research-groups/quaternary/luminescence-research-laboratory/dose-rate-calculator/) which is available from https://dstreble.shinyapps.io/shinyDRAC/.
