On October 20, 2016 the Institut National des Sciences de l’Archéologie et du Patrimoine (INSAP) of Rabat (Morocco) organized a one-day workshop on the use of innovative techniques for the analysis of archaeological evidences. The meeting was integrated in the frame of the Master and Bachelor programme in Archaeology of the INSAP, and was open to public. Guest-speakers from different universities and institutions took part at this event, presenting the latest results of their own research projects. Lectures were given by Prof. Abdeslam Mikdad (INSAP, organizer), Dr. Jörg Linstädter (DAI, co-organizer), Prof. Richard Evershed and Dr. Julie Dunne (University of Bristol), Dr. Paul Breeze (King’s College, London), Dr. Giulio Lucarini (University of Cambridge), Dr. Miguel Del Pino (University of Sheffield), and Alessandro Potì and Manuel Broich (University of Cologne, CRC 806).
For Project C2, Alessandro Potì presented the state of the art in the analysis of the late Palaeolithic occupation of Ifri El Baroud (NE Morocco).
In the following days, Manuel Broich and Alessandro Potì could access the archaeological depot of the INSAP to complete the technological study of the lithic assemblages from the Neolithic layers of Ifri n’Etsedda (NE Morocco), excavated in 2012 during the first phase of research at the site.
